It’s the most wonderful time of year! Isn’t this season so magical? I just love the snow, the festivities, the traditions, the flannel PJs, the hot chocolate and ALL the shortbread! This year has been especially sweet with our little babe and although we are so much more tired than before, our hearts are so, so full!

This year we have really been considering our values as a family and how we want our children to view this holiday season. Above all (even the delicious shortbread), we want this to be a season to remember the miracle of Christ’s birth. The Christmas story is so amazing. Jesus is King of Kings, yet He entered the world in the most humble way imaginable, as an innocent little baby to a poor family. Jesus gave up His throne and His glory and He came into the world as a baby. He didn’t appear to the world as a King, even though He possessed all authority of heaven. He was ridiculed, mocked, beaten and killed for the sake of the world. Our King Jesus lived the most selfless life to save every selfish soul on earth. I love the Christmas song, How Many Kings, which sums it up so well:

How many kings step down from their thrones?

How many lords have abandoned their homes?

How many greats have become the least for me?

How many gods have poured out their hearts to romance a world that is torn all apart?

How many fathers gave up their son for me?

Only One did that for me.

Today, and every day, we remember our King and the miracle of His selfless act of being born into this world.

Whether you believe that Jesus is King or not, He is seated now at the right hand of God. He loves you more than you can imagine and is waiting for you with open arms to wrap you in grace, forgiveness and love. And only when you invite Jesus to be the King of your heart, will you find true peace, joy and unconditional love which is only found in Him.

Merry Christmas from my little family to yours.
