Guys, I was having serious bedside lamp issues. I kept knocking my lamp over to check the time on my phone to see what ungodly hour I was being woken up at. It was a problem. Soooo, I decided to make some hanging bedside lights which would stay out of the way of my failing arms. Here’s all the info in case you are suffering with the same issue…
I started out with two Ikea shelf brackets and two cord kits. I stained the brackets and just spray painted the little white bit at the bottom of the cord where the lightbulb screws in.
Next, I hit up my trusty Amazon Prime and ordered these light bulbs and these metal cages
. Amazon Prime, you’re my hero.
Then, I took this super-natural-not-at-all-staged photo of all the stuff.
Finally, hubs just drilled the brackets in and we wrapped the cords around.
Ta-da, flail proof bedside lights! Win. (I also got these lamp dimmers so that I won’t have to plug in the cord every time I need the light… that would be a disaster waiting to happen. The dimmer has a little switch that sits on each of the bedside tables).
Eli felt pretty strongly about being included in the photo shoot too…
